Carl E. Scheetz is a retired Superintendent of Schools in the
Ocean City School District. Prior to that position he was a classroom teacher,
Teaching Principal, and Building Principal. He was a member of the New Jersey
Association of School Administrators where he received the Distinguished Service
Award and was awarded NJASA Diplomate.
Dr. Scheetz is a graduate of Glassboro State College and
continued his graduate studies at Rutger’s University where he received his
Master’s Degree. His doctoral degree in Education is from Nova Southeastern
University.
Since 1961, Carl has attended the Tabernacle services and
been involved in many activities and projects. In 1993 he joined the Board of
Trustees, served as Secretary to the Board in 2002, served Vice Chairman of
the Board from 2003-2004, and again 2007-2008. He Co-Chaired the initial
Endowment Committee. Currently he serves on the Executive, Nominating,
Finance/Budget, Building/Properties, and Worship Committees.
Locally, Dr. Scheetz is extremely active at St. Peter’s
United Methodist Church, where he is on the Administrative Council, and
Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He is also involved with Ocean City’s
Ecumenical Council.
In 1956 he married Virginia and they are the parents of
three daughters and grandparents of three granddaughters.
